The recently launched Rs 199 plan will be available for Rs 149. Other tariff plans of Rs 399, Rs 459, and Rs 499 will also get a price cut of Rs 50 each. The price cut announced by the company will not have any impact on the benefits of these plans.
Reliance Jio is also coming with new 1.5 GB data per day plans priced at Rs 198, Rs 398, Rs 448, and Rs 498. The validity will vary from 28 days to 91 days. These plans provide 50 percent more data to Jio Prime subscribers.
The mega update comes after Airtel and Vodafone announced similar data plans with validity of 28 days at Rs 199. It will be really interesting to see how Airtel and Vodafone react to the latest offer of Jio. So far both the operators have acted swiftly to counter Jio’s low price data plans.

The Price War between telcos continues
The ongoing price war between telcos started with the launch of Jio 4G service. As the company has been very aggressive with its pricing, providing cheap data and free voice calls to its prime subscribers. Other telcos have also tried to match Jio’s tariff plans by launching new plans regularly.
Apart from benefits like unlimited data, free calling, and SMS; there has also been a sudden increase in the cashback offers. Telecom operators have announced cashback in partnership with different headset manufacturers. The companies like Airtel and Vodafone have also targeted the budget phone segment with cashback offers. Even Reliance jio has regularly come with cashback offers on its recharge plans. Recently, the company extended its surprise cashback offer providing customers benefits up to Rs 3300 on recharge plans of Rs 399 and above.
If we look at the whole scenario, the subscribers have plenty to choose from as telecom operators continue to better themselves with new recharge offers. The price war has gone much beyond the expectations of the consumers. The choice has simply multiplied with data plans in different budgets and for different needs of subscribers.
